I work in front of a Hospital, so I've heard many, many sad things. At those times I wished I could help one of them in any way possible, so today I went to donate blood.
My blood is O- it's compatible with any! And, if I have that type of blood, and I pass all the other testes, I told to myself "I have to do it! And I WILL do it!"
There were many people there today who went to donate blood for someone they know (there were about 20 people) but only 3 of them (me included) passed all the the tests and could actually donate. But I was a volunteer donor, so the doctor was really happy, she said that "in her 6 years working there, I'm the second volunteer donor in that Hospital" that's really sad! So people only go and donate blood when they see it convenient (when their familiar is dying?)?! I was really mad with everyone else! I hope more people would donate! They go and ask for blood when their loved ones are about to die, but they don't donate any after that?!
The doctor also told me about this newborn who is about to die, and everyone was really worried because they didn't have their type of blood and couldn't donate any to him, so the baby's doctor and the parents came personally to me and said "thank you" because my blood was going to be used on him. It's really nice, it feels so good to donate! I can't wait to go again! (but I have to wait 4 months until then, boooo)
